evolutionID is now an accredited certification body for the new OSS-SO program, which tests the interoperability of access control products.
Trust in the interoperability of access control systems now has formal verification. The OSS Association has introduced the OSS-SO certification program, a structured, test-based process to verify that access control products meet the requirements of the OSS Standard Offline (OSS-SO).
evolutionID developed the certification framework together with CoreWillSoft and the OSS Association and is now one of two accredited bodies authorized to conduct these certifications.
The program covers all component classes defined in the OSS-SO system model: readers, updaters, configuration tools, and host systems. Certification applies to a specific, tested product version. Partial certifications are not provided; manufacturers must meet all mandatory requirements to receive a certificate.
Products that successfully complete the process receive an OSS-SO certificate of conformity. An accompanying test report documents the tested firmware and software versions, supported card technologies, and any potential limitations.
Regulations such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act increasingly require manufacturers and integrators to provide verifiable proof of conformity rather than mere claims. Independent, test-based certification provides procurement professionals and integrators with a reliable basis for assessing interoperability before project implementation and reducing integration risks.
As an accredited certification body, evolutionID conducts these tests independently and consistently, applying the same professional diligence to every manufacturer and product.
