IDfunction Check-in: Self-Service Onboarding, Connected to Your Access Environment

Onboarding doesn't have to depend on someone being at a desk. IDfunction Check-in guides individuals through the full registration process independently, integrated directly into IDfunction PIAM.

Onboarding a new employee, contractor, or visitor sounds straightforward. In practice, it rarely is.

Someone needs to be at a desk. Credentials need to be issued manually. Data needs to be entered into multiple systems. For organizations managing large workforces across multiple sites, this adds up in time, in resource cost, and in the small errors that accumulate when a process depends on manual coordination.

This is one of the most persistent friction points in physical access management. And it is the problem that IDfunction Check-in is built to address.

What IDfunction Check-in Does

IDfunction Check-in is a self-service onboarding terminal, running on Pyramid Computer's POLYTOUCH hardware, integrated directly into IDfunction PIAM.

At the terminal, individuals move through the full registration process independently, entering their own data, completing any required steps, and receiving an encoded badge at the end. The process is guided and structured.

Because IDfunction Check-in runs within IDfunction PIAM, everything that happens at the terminal is governed by the same workflows, approval logic, and access policies already defined in the platform. Access rights are updated automatically. Identity records stay current. Every action is logged and auditable.

The result is an onboarding process that is faster, more consistent, and less dependent on the availability of the right person at the right moment.

Part of the IDfunction Ecosystem

IDfunction Check-in is a connected capability within IDfunction PIAM, meaning it inherits the same governance, auditability, and workflow automation that run across the rest of the platform.

Organizations already running IDfunction PIAM can extend their environment with self-service onboarding without introducing a separate system or a new admin interface. The terminal fits into the existing structure.

A standalone deployment option is on the horizon. For now, IDfunction Check-in lives where it makes the most sense, inside a properly governed PIAM environment.

See It at SicherheitsExpo München

IDfunction Check-in will be available for live demonstration at SicherheitsExpo München, 1–2 July 2026. Come and find us at Halle 2, StandF08.

About us
For more than two decades, evolutionID has helped organizations bring clarity and control to identity and access. We focus on what matters most: secure, reliable processes that are simple to operate and built to last.

We bring together Physical Identity & Access Management (PIAM), card and employee management, and RFID‑supported workflows into one coherent approach. Our modular building blocks allow identity and access systems to adapt over time—without disrupting what already works. The result is less complexity, more transparency, and greater confidence in everyday operations.

As a long‑term partner, we guide our customers step by step—from analysis and architecture to implementation, migration, and ongoing support. With teams in Munich, Bonn, and Frankfurt, we work closely with organizations across the DACH region to create access infrastructures that stay secure, stable, and ready for what comes next.
